  • Segment Research efforts to focus on your most priced customers

What is a Customer Persona?

Customer Personas are representations of segments of your customer base. Personas can be segmented by demographic and/or psychographic attributes of your users/customers.

In this platform we will use a Persona to identify which customer segment(s) benefits most from the opportunity and how intense their desire for a solution is.

How would I use a Customer Persona?

To use a Customer Persona, you'd use these steps:

  1. Define a Desired Outcome.
  2. Define an Opportunity or Collect Feedback from Customers.
  3. Define a Persona (and related assumptions, e.g. assumed information and customer journey)
  4. Conduct Research with customers (similar to the persona) to learn about their experiences and to see if what they say/do matches your assumptions (especially about the problem statement).
  5. Use the finding to refine assumptions and identify if the opportunity is worth pursuing.
  6. If worth pursuing, Use the validated assumption and research findings to create several product concepts, to test usability with customers and the amount of effort required to release a finished product/feature.
  7. Define custom Priority Factors, set factor scores on each Opportunity (then watch it reorder itself, ready to be added to your Roadmap).

Define a Customer Persona

To define a Customer Persona:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Expand the Desired Outcome you want to add the Customer Persona to.
  3. Expand the OP-1 (Opportunity view) you want to add the Customer Persona to.
  4. Expand the Personas view.
  5. Enter a persona name (e.g. Jamie) in the Add Persona + Enter field and press the Enter key

Update a Customer Persona

To update a Customer Persona:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Expand the Desired Outcome for that Customer Persona.
  3. Expand the OP-1 (Opportunity view) for that Customer Persona.
  4. Expand the Personas view.
  5. Click the
    (Edit button) of the Customer Persona.
    You will see a popup dialog box with title 'Edit Customer Persona':

    Validating
    Update
    Cancel
  6. Apply your Changes.
  7. Finally, click Update button.
    Note: The Customer Persona will be updated immediately.

Delete a Product Opportunity

To delete a Customer Persona:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Expand the Desired Outcome for that Customer Persona.
  3. Expand the OP-1 (Opportunity view) for that Customer Persona.
  4. Expand the Personas view.
  5. Click the
    (Delete button) of the Customer Persona.
    You will see a popup dialog box with title 'Delete Customer Persona':

    Are you sure you want to delete this Customer Persona?
    Warning
    This opportunity will be permanently deleted
    Delete
    Cancel
  6. Finally, click Delete button.
    Note: The Customer Persona will be deleted immediately.
